HSE - MS & EXPECTATION
Why HSEMS?
The HSEMS should be provided because:
Increased emphasis on environmental awareness.
Arrangements should be auditable.
Requirement for continual improvement in HSE.
COMPANY and industry shareholders.
Need to be consistent with industry standards:
PR 750 and RP 75 ( API ).
ISO 14000.
l States the HSE policy.
l States various responsibilities.
l Contains, or points to, standards in HSE that should be achieved.
l A “top level” document against which other guidance or reference documents are positioned.
Element description, or high level goal:
Activities which are required to be in position in order to satisfy the 'element.' They are written as,or indicate, performance standards.
Descriptions of procedures that already exist within COMPANY, and are used as guidance in satisfying the expectations.
There should be ‘ELEMENTS’ within the COMPANY HSEMS.
Each element has its own set of ‘EXPECTATIONS’.
These expectations should infer a standard which can be measured.
